Working in the Fields Corner neighborhood of Dorchester, Massachusetts, we truly believe that for whole-scale change to occur around issues of domestic violence, it is critical and necessary to first work in our local communities and neighborhoods to start conversations and initiate actions to prevent domestic violence. We then seek to share these conversations and actions with other communities in the U.S. and beyond.
Close to Home is working to transform the way we think about and respond to domestic violence. We believe that it affects not only individual families, but also the community, nation and world. We do not accept the notion that domestic violence is something that should be kept between family members, or behind closed doors. Domestic violence is an issue that affects us all, and for that very reason, it takes an entire community to come together to prevent it from continuing.
Because domestic violence is such a personal and intimate issue, we believe in the power of personal contact and commitment – working community by community to make change both locally and nationally. Read more about what we're doing, how we're doing it, and how you can be a part of it all.
