In addition to our local work, Close to Home is collaborating with national organizations to incorporate community engagement methods into domestic violence prevention. Because of our on-the-ground experience and the successes we’ve had in this innovative and new approach, we are regularly sought out for technical assistance trainings and consultations on incorporating community engagement strategies into existing program structure.
Close to Home is also working to impact both state and national public policy on domestic violence prevention. We seek to elevate community engagement as an important social norm transformation strategy in domestic violence intervention and prevention, as well as to support and advocate for increased funding in this approach. Close to Home invites both local and national organizations that believe community engagement is an important and necessary strategy in domestic violence intervention and prevention to join us in our efforts.
Among others, Close to Home has provided training and/or technical assistance to:
• Family Violence Prevention Fund
• Massachusetts Department of Public Health – RISE Program
• Rhode Island Coalition Against Domestic Violence
• Sheila Wellstone Institute, Wellston Action
• Texas Council on Family Violence
• U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – DELTA project
For more information on our national work, or to arrange for a training or technical assistance opportunity, please contact Close to Home at 617.929.5151.
